About the Prayer Ministry:
At Rock Island First Church of the Nazarene we believe that apart from God, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Therefore it is our ultimate desire to seek God first on all that we do. Like our walk with Christ is always growing, so is our ministry of prayer. We are currently working to increase our opportunities for prayer as God provides His
blueprint for becoming a house of prayer (Matthew 21:13). We praise God for those who will be joining us in the days, months, and years ahead. If you would like more information on any of the following opportunities, please contact us.
Prayer Chains
Prayer Response Team (PRT)/Emergency Prayer Response Team (EPRT)
The basic purpose of the prayer chain is the spiritual alarm system which communicates and takes prayerful action for the needs of the congregation, and the community and global needs. This network of people who are committed to prayer take action on behalf of the congregation of Jesus' words to "ask, and you will receive, seek and you will find and knock and the door will be opened" (Matthew 7:7). The importance of the prayer chain is that it faithfully intercedes on behalf of others in need by lifting up specific requests, concerns and emergency situations.
Specifically the (PRT)/EPRT will pray:
-For anyone calling for prayer
-For people inside and outside the church
- For emergencies and ongoing prayer needs
Praying is Believing
Moving from a prayer life to a prayerful life. This class is offered at the Quad Cities Prayer Center in Davenport located in Northpark Mall. It is offered the 2nd Saturday every month from 9am - 12pm. The cost is $10 and registration is not required.
